Butyric acid, also known as butanoic acid, is an organic compound classified as a short-chain saturated fatty acid. In the human body, it is naturally produced during the fermentation of undigested carbohydrates. The production of butyric acid is mainly associated with the consumption of resistant starch, although other compounds such as inulin, lactose, and polyols also contribute to this process. Butyric acid can also be found in food – its main sources include fresh milk, dairy products, and silage; however, the amount of this compound in food is limited.

Sodium butyrate in the form of enteric microcapsules, microcapsule shell (fatty acids – vegetable origin), vegetable capsule shell (Glazing agent: hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose).

Manufactured in a facility that uses ingredients derived from milk (including lactose), soya, peanuts, other nuts, sesame seeds, cereals containing gluten, eggs, crustaceans, fish.

The HPMC (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) capsule used in this product is a high-quality capsule made from plant-based materials. The term “plant-based capsule shell (coating agent: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose)” has replaced the previous wording “filler: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose” to more clearly emphasize the function and plant-based origin of the capsule. The capsule itself remains unchanged and serves solely as the product’s shell-it is not a filler.
